Our Parish Churches

Both churches in Ripe and Chalvington are part of the 
Church Family serving the three villages Ripe, Chalvington and Laughton.

In addition to Baptisms, weddings and Funerals the Rector Geoffrey Smith holds regular services at all locations which are fully inclusive, welcoming and open to everyone

St John the Baptist Church, Ripe

Ripe village church dates back to the 13th century, built of knapped flint and sandstone with a square tower housing 5 bells, this Grade 1 listed building is approached via an avenue of trees at Eckington corner, close to the village hall

St Bartholomew Church, Chalvington

This small rural medieval church is Grade 1 listed. Built in the late 13th century it features a shingle steeple housing 3 bells. Reached via Church Farm Lane or from the lovely footpath walk across the open  fields from Ripe Church
